Emotion Regulation for Parents

A weekly discussion group for parents about emotion regulation in the parent-child relationship. We will discuss evidenced based strategies to help parents be mindful during stressful situations, in order to calm themselves and handle the situation with a clearer mind.

Topics include:

  • Parental emotion regulation
  • Adaptive and maladaptive emotion
  • Regulation strategies
  • Ways to better understand the mind of your children

The group is for parents of children aged 5-11 years (elementary school), four 1.5-hours interactive sessions, focusing on most recent studies in the field.

Registration is required; a phone interview will follow registration. The group maximum size is 12.

Free and open to all faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars and retirees of Stanford University, LPCH and Stanford Hospital and clinics. Eligible dependents may also attend. BeWell Berry available for eligible employees.
