Recreation and Wellness provides world-class recreation and wellness programming for the student, staff, faculty, and community of Stanford University and partners with organizations that embody and enhance experiences for lifelong wellness. Stanford’s recreational facilities are available to Stanford’s students, faculty, and staff with valid SUID Cards. Please visit the membership website for additional individual rec facility access privileges or visit your nearest rec center for assistance.
Fitness classes include aquatics, group fitness, indoor cycling, climbing, F45, Pilates, and many more. Drop into any of them with a group fitness quarter pass, which eligible faculty and staff can purchase at the special employee rate.
Stanford Recreation and Wellness also offers free Personal Training and Fitness Assessments to benefits-eligible employees and free Virtual Fitness classes online via zoom.
The Intramural Sports Program offers over 20 individual and team sports throughout the year, with flag football offered in the fall, basketball in the winter, outdoor soccer in the spring, and softball in the summer. Valid Stanford ID required.
The Stanford Adventure Program invites faculty and staff to enjoy the climbing wall, the well-stocked rentals in the outdoor center.

Climbing Rec Classes cover everything from climbing basics to advanced techniques. You will learn what you need to know to start leading climbs, and we emphasize safe practices so you can explore the sport with confidence. Our instructors are always on hand to guide you through the process of scaling rock walls at the Stanford Climbing Wall.
Want to learn how to top rope belay? You’re in luck! Sign up for this one-hour class to learn the basics of top rope belaying. Please ensure that you have been to the climbing wall at least once prior to this course. This class is free of charge.
Our diverse range of Recreational Classes taught by experienced, certified instructors provides the opportunity to learn a new activity, no matter your skill level. Take classes such as tennis, golf, Olympic weightlifting, and more. Eligible faculty and staff can purchase a class at the special employee rate.
