Disability Leave

If you must take leave for your own health condition, including non-work related illness or injury, you may be eligible for disability benefits. This is in addition to the job protection that you receive through the Family and Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act.

STATUS DISABILITY BENEFIT OPTIONS

California Residents

Voluntary Disability Insurance (VDI)
A non-work-related short-term disability plan that provides income protection for California residents.

Long-term Disability Insurance (LTD)
Provides income protection for medical leaves due to an accident or sickness.

Non-California Residents

Short-term Disability Insurance (STD)
Provides income protection for non-California employees only.

Long-term Disability Insurance (LTD)
Provides income protection for medical leaves due to an accident or sickness.

International Residents

Insurance for Global Staff and Affiliates
Global HR Programs provides information related to disability for staff not based in the U.S.

Start Receiving Disability Income

If you need to use sick time for more than five consecutive working days due to injury or illness, you must apply for disability benefits.
