*The holiday schedule for this year is provided for planning purposes and may be subject to change.

**This year, for areas that close for the entire period of December 21, 2026, through January 1, 2027, the University will provide three (3) additional days off with pay. The additional days off with pay may be taken on any normal workday during the close period that is not an employee’s normally scheduled day off or a designated University holiday. For the other normal workdays during the close period that are not designated by the University as official holidays or a paid day off, employees may use accrued vacation time, any available PTO, approved time off without pay, or any combination thereof.

Note: Temporary and casual employees are not eligible for paid holidays or floating holidays.

Eligibility for Paid Holidays: Regular staff employees are eligible for paid holidays beginning on their first day of employment if they are normally scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week (50% or more of regular full-time employment, also known as FTE).

Floating Holidays: Floating holidays (16 hours) are available to all regular staff employees on January 1 of the calendar year and can be taken at any time within that calendar year, with supervisory approval. Employees represented by either SEIU or SDSA should consult their respective collective bargaining agreements.

Holiday Pay Policy: For Stanford’s policy on paid holidays, see Administrative Guide Memo 2.1.13: Paid Holidays. Employees represented by either SEIU or SDSA should consult their respective collective bargaining agreements.
