What is one fun fact about you?
I'm a Nebraskan! (But I think everybody already knows that!)
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
The people. I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some wonderful people during my time at Stanford. The friendships and connections I have made here have been invaluable, both personally and professionally.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
I have been involved in a good many projects and initiatives throughout the years, but supporting students, faculty, and staff with the life-changing experience of study abroad has been a source of immense pride and fulfillment.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
There are too many to count, but mentoring students (as a volunteer advisor) and staff and watching them change, grow, and thrive brings to mind so many positive memories. I've been on literally hundreds of "walk-and-talks" with students and staff during the past 25 plus years, celebrating highs, embracing lows, and prognosticating about the future. Those walks I will remember.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Always focus on the process of getting things done. It's more important than the outcome!
