What is one fun fact about you?
I did not grow up with a dog, but I have a very sweet, rescue dog now, and wonder why it took me so long!
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
The wealth of cultural and academic resources, as well as the supportive teamwork within our department and across campus.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
I was in the first cohort (pilot) of the Compassion Cultivation Training taught by Dr. Kelly McGonigal at CCARE, Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. The course has supported me in incorporating more "compassion, altruism, and empathy" in both my personal and work interactions.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
Watching the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden being created and participating in some of their events, e.g., getting my face painted with mud and also painting tree bark.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Join the Stanford Slack channels that are relevant for your job and life, and get a mentor. Your colleagues are very knowledgeable and eager to help. Also, definitely learn about all that is happening at Stanford. Search out the treasures here (and not just the people) eg, the Cantor Art Museum, the Bing, Jazz workshops, blooming trees in the Mem Chu courtyard, horses!, in addition to academic lectures and webinars.
