What is one fun fact about you?
I love cooking, took up gardening to have good things to cook, and when jam making got out of control, started gifting my coworkers with the excess at Christmas.
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
Being able to work with some of the brightest minds in medicine, doing cutting-edge research, and then seeing that research translated into practice, gives me immense satisfaction.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
Back when the Anesthesia department was smaller, and we all knew each other, I loved the weekly ICU team meetings. Attendings and fellows would gather, and everyone would discuss how their research project was going, share findings, plan for collaboration, and learn from each other’s successes and challenges. It was a truly supportive environment, and I feel grateful to have been a part of it.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Keep an open mind; the opportunities for improvement and discovery are all around us. Teaching and learning are opposite sides of the same coin. Sometimes it's heads, sometimes tails.
