What is one fun fact about you?
I enjoy road trips. I had the opportunity to drive from West Virginia to California and I have completed several road trips from California to Texas with family. These were a blast. There is a lot you get to see on a road trip that you do not get to experience otherwise. Did someone say road trip? Count me in!
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
I cannot pick one, so I will pick two. (1) The people at Stanford are great. They are very collaborative and willing to share their experience. I am incredibly grateful to the many people who have helped me in the past 30 years when I have reached out for help. (2) The Stanford campus is beautiful, and it continues to evolve. There is a lot to see, and I enjoy exploring campus even after 30 years.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
There are too many to select from, however, I will say that what made them memorable and successful were the group of people I had the opportunity to partner with on a common purpose. Throughout my 30 years, I have had creative and smart colleagues who are excellent thought partners and a joy to work with.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
I have wonderful memories of the Halloween celebrations in RMG. This team knows how to have fun.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
The first few months as a new hire can be overwhelming with the amount of information coming your way. Do not give up. Be patient. It will get better. Ask questions, take notes, and be proactive in exploring the resources that are available to help you.
