About Diversity & Inclusion for Staff
About
The Office for IDEAL Advancement, a new office dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for the university community, was established on July 1, 2024 under the Vice Provost for Institutional Equity, Access and Community (VP-IEAC). The IDEAL Advancement team was formerly a part of the University Human Resources Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (UHR-DEIB), which sunset on June 30, 2024.
Led by Associate Vice Provost Ayodele Thomas, the Office for IDEAL Advancement will promote campus-wide strategies to advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in a learning environment (IDEAL) for all populations, and direct the operationalization of the vision and strategic direction outlined in the IDEAL Strategic Plan. The IDEAL Advancement team works with leaders and community members across the university to align efforts, lead and support initiatives, provide subject matter expertise, and embed equity and inclusion in policies, programs, and systems, while fostering a culture of belonging where everyone feels included. We are within the unit of Institutional Equity, Access & Community, which also includes the Diversity & Access Office, Office of the Ombuds, and the SHARE Title IX Office.
