Helping more families at Stanford
The household income limit for the 2024 Child Care Subsidy Grant (CCSG) has increased to include benefits-eligible university employees with household incomes of $216,000 or less. Online applications will be open from July 10-August 23, 2023. Review the program guidelines on Cardinal at Work to see if you are eligible to apply.
“We stay committed to providing meaningful support, and this means ensuring our financial assistance programs reflect current realities,” said Phyllis Stewart Pires, associate vice president for Employee Support Programs and Services in University HR.
By broadening the scope of eligibility, more members of the Stanford community will have access to up to $10,000 of grant funds to reimburse for qualified dependent care costs, such as child care, early education, or preschool programs, nannies, and summer day-camps.
You may be eligible for up to $5,000 in non-taxable grants that are added to your Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account each month; an optional taxable award of up to $5,000 is administered through payroll twice a year.
This is the second time in two years that the maximum household income guidelines have been adjusted to increase the scope of eligibility. When the program expanded in 2021, the WorkLife Office saw a 53% increase in applicants and a 51% increase in awards granted.
How it works
The next application period for the 12-Month CCSG award is July 10 to August 23, with funds disbursed starting January 2024. Review the WorkLife site on Cardinal at Work to see if you are eligible and to review program details.
