Stanford Recognized with 2023 Caring Workplace Award

Stanford’s commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment has been recognized by MH Worklife.

Stanford’s commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment was recently recognized with the 2023 Caring Workplace Award from MH Worklife, an organization that aims to equip employees and leaders with tools to manage the demands of care and work.

"I’m very proud of the focus we’ve had on supporting employees in the areas of flexible work, well-being, dependent care supports, and diversity and inclusion efforts. While there is always much more to do in these areas, it’s an honor to have the university’s efforts recognized with this award,” shared Phyllis Stewart Pires, Associate Vice President for Stanford’s Employee Support Programs & Services.

Explore new ways to enhance your well-being

Stanford's journey toward being recognized as a caring workplace is marked by our comprehensive employee well-being programs. Here are some key highlights that contributed to university’s recognition:

  • Physical Wellness programs: Stanford's commitment to your health is evident through its extensive health and wellness programs. These programs include your medical plans, an annual incentive program, year-round educational workshops, access to wellness coaches, and on-site wellness facilities to help you build healthy habits.
  • Mental & Emotional Health support: Recognizing the significance of emotional and mental health, Stanford offers robust support services for you and your dependents from counseling services and stress management programs to workshops and discussion groups. By prioritizing mental well-being, Stanford aims to create an environment where employees feel supported in all aspects of their lives.
  • Dependent Care supports: We offer one of the largest child care systems in higher education with six on-site centers, a back-up care program and other resources for caregivers of elderly adults. These support programs help you balance your priorities so you can thrive at home and at work.
  • Workplace Experience programs: Understanding the diverse needs of its workforce, Stanford has embraced flexible work arrangements. This includes options for remote work, flexible schedules, and other initiatives that enable you to thrive and achieve  success both inside and outside the workplace.
  • Dedication to Belonging & Community: Stanford’s commitment to compassion and care contributes to your overall growth, satisfaction, and quality of work. These programs encourage you to use your talents and skills to foster connections and to give back and contribute to those in need within our community and where you live.

“This award is a testament to Stanford’s unwavering commitment to creating a workplace culture that prioritizes care, inclusivity, and the well-being of your employees. Your dedication to fostering an environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally has truly set you apart,” stated Blessing Adesiyan, CEO & Founder of MH Worklife.
