COVID restrictions are easing. What does this mean for employees?

Across our campus community and region, we are continuing to experience significant improvements in COVID-19. In line with this progress, state and local authorities voted in mid-June to loosen COVID-19 health and safety requirements in California workplaces.

As we look forward to a fall quarter that is as close to normal as possible to an in-person academic experience, stay updated on how these changes impact you and your colleagues.

  • Health Alerts: As always, make sure you are checking Health Alerts announcements regularly for the latest news and updates on the guidelines in place to keep our community safe. Note the recent changes to our guidelines on vaccinations and Health Check, travel and safety protocols such as face coverings and social distancing.

  • Return to Workplace Guide: As you head back to campus this summer or fall, check out the updated Return to Workplace Guide, which provides relevant information to acclimate you to the workplace, including interim workplace policies, a guide to safely returning to campus and employee support and self-care resources. You can also download the Stanford Mobile app to connect to essential information about buildings, on campus dining and health. You can even use it as your campus ID! 

  • Take a deep breath: On July 14 from 12-1 pm, the Faculty Staff Help Center will be running an online workshop focused on managing reentry stress and anxiety. You can register for the event here

  • Flexible Work resources: If you are a Stanford manager figuring out how to navigate the transition to flexible work for your team, this Manager Playbook is for you. Policies are being assessed regarding the many facets of flexible work, including compensation philosophies, hybrid or fully remote agreements, home office equipment, internet and cell phone stipends and more. Policy updates will be announced when available.
