New information and resources to support hiring managers
The Attract section in the Manager Toolkit is now redesigned to provide a layout that supports managers in quickly finding the resources and information needed throughout the hiring process. In addition, information and resources have been updated to support the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B).
Hiring managers are expected to provide an exceptional bias-free candidate experience, including informing and educating others participating in the hiring committee to best provide an inclusive candidate experience.
The newly designed microsite now addresses each phase of the hiring journey:
- Getting Started and Job Descriptions
- Applicant Tracking System
- Finding & Managing Candidates
- Interviewing & Selection
- Offer & Conversion
New content to support your journey in hiring a diverse and inclusive workforce includes:
- Information on creating a diverse search committee.
- Resources on how to hire and interview based on competencies relevant to the job.
- The addition of the DirectEmployers Job Alliance to the list of sites in new job postings automatically post to, which will increase the reach of our job postings to diverse groups. Additionally, a list of diversity job posting sites offers recommendations to hiring teams for further outreach.
- Training and resources to minimize unconscious bias during the hiring process.

Hiring committee resources to be posted on Cardinal at Work website
General hiring resources will be added to the Cardinal at work website in late June, including interview tips and networking tools, to support those involved in the hiring process who are not in a manager role.
New Stanford Careers site
In June, the careers site will have a new modernized look that reflects the new Stanford identity guidelines along with new candidate-centric content informed by IDEAL initiatives, the Employee Value Proposition (EVP), and stakeholder and candidate feedback. The new site will have the same careersearch.stanford.edu URL and is structured to provide a more seamless experience for candidates in the process of discovering all that Stanford has to offer. New content highlights our culture, diversity and inclusion efforts, how we hire, information about our areas of work, and testimonials from Stanford employees. More information will be provided when the new site launches.
