When you think about your benefits, the first thing that might pop into your mind is health insurance or time away. As a Stanford employee, you also have access to dozens of other services that are either free or provided at a special rate just for you.

When your home life is in order, you can bring your best self to work. We believe that not all employees have the same needs. So in addition to "core" benefits like health insurance, we offer what we call “voluntary benefits,” such as pet insurance or identity theft protection, where enrollment is optional—and valuable—to those who need it.

There are no co-pays or deductibles, you simply pay your premiums with after-tax dollars through payroll deductions and receive unlimited legal access to a nationwide network of experienced attorneys by phone or in person.

Credit Monitoring and Identity Repair

Stay informed of your credit activity and get alerts if there is fraudulent activity so you can take action. If you become a victim of identity theft, you’ll be assigned a dedicated investigator to navigate you through the process to return your identity to its pre-fraud state.

Pet Insurance

Stanford pet parents can receive coverage for both the routine and surprise health costs. A pet wellness plan covers preventative services and a major medical plan covers accidents, emergencies and hospitalizations. Employees who have multiple pets may qualify for additional discounts.

Long Term Care Insurance

If you are unable to care for yourself or a loved one due to disability, illness, accident or age, this after-tax benefit can pay many of the daily expenses for nursing or in-home care that are not generally covered by medical insurance or disability benefits. You can purchase coverage for your spouse or registered domestic partner, as well as your parents, siblings, grandparents and in-laws.
