Group Fitness and You

The long awaited group fitness schedules at the Recreation and Wellness Center at Redwood City are now available. Preview Week is April 1-5 and all classes are FREE. Check out any class on the schedule to see what classes work for you. With several quality instructors coming from HIP, we know there will be a class that meets your needs.

Fitness During the Transition

All group fitness classes in the new facility will be offered by DAPER. The HIP fitness classes currently held at 3145 Porter Drive will discontinue after March. However, select fitness classes at 3160 Porter Drive will continue to be offered through June. In addition, DAPER is working with several of your favorite instructors from Porter Drive locations to teach in Redwood City beginning this spring.

When deciding on a fitness class for the spring quarter, sign up for what's best for you.  If you sign up for a HIP fitness class and move mid-quarter, you will automatically receive a DAPER Cardinal Group Fitness Pass for the remainder of the quarter. The Cardinal Group Fitness Pass offers unlimited access to all fitness classes at the Recreation and Wellness Center in Redwood City. Simply pick up your free pass at the fitness center when you arrive.

BeWell Programming

Beginning April 4th, BeWell will offer screening and advising appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 135 of the Recreation and Wellness Center. Once you’ve completed the 2019 SHALA, you may register for your Redwood City BeWell appointment. You’ll also be able to earn your BeWell berries by completing a free fitness assessment or personal training session at the Redwood City Recreation and Wellness Center. Appointments open late April.

Room 120 will be designated for meditation, contemplation, prayer, yoga and pilates. The room will be available for self-guided practice when classes are not in session. A schedule will be posted outside the room to allow you to plan your practice. Peer-facilitated group meditation will also be held from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm each Monday (excluding instructor led sessions on the first Monday of each month).

Wellness Wednesdays

HIP will offer free lunchtime workshops and interactive group sessions focused on making the healthy choice the easy choice at your new Redwood City location.

Healthy Living Classes

HIP will offer Healthy Living classes starting in Spring quarter. Most Healthy living classes are STAP and BeWell Berry eligible. Several Healthy Living Classes now qualify as a BeWell engagement option.
