Stanford Redwood City: Who’s moving next and what it means to you, Part 2

Whether or not you are slated to move to the new campus, you may have questions about how the services and programs you rely on will continue to operate.

The first tenants of the new Stanford Redwood City campus will soon be on their way to Cardinal Hall. In February we provided the first in a series of updates about how the move of those units may impact services you need. What follows is a list of updates from the groups moving to University Hall in April and May, as well as a few recent updates relevant to the broad community.

Below is a summary of programs and services managed by departments moving to University Hall, and changes you can expect, if any:

All development teams will work with Stanford campus partners as before, but will meet via Zoom except when face-to-face is necessary.
When visiting the main campus, we’ll have dedicated touch-down spaces in the Alumni Center and some academic departments.

Porter Drive Will Call will move to SRWC (date TBD). Campus Will Call will remain at Tresidder Memorial Union.

Open Labs

Some Open Labs at Porter Drive (first Friday of the month) will be offered at SRWC. Sessions currently held on main campus will remain.

Office of the Treasurer Point-of-Sale Credit Card Loaner Terminal

Administrative units, departments, schools

Effective May 1, 2019, Merchant Services will have FedEx deliver equipment and return labels to the provided address; no personal pickup will be necessary.

To initiate a request or contact Merchant Services to enroll in Payment Card Industry awareness training, submit a Rent Credit Card Terminal Service Now ticket.

Purchasing Card (PCard)/Travel Card (TCard) Address Changes

Credit card holders moving to SRWC

The Card Services team will update cardholder’s business address if they are moving to SRWC.

FMS Mail Codes

Mail Codes on Fingate will be updated to coincide with moves – from late-April through the second week of May. For updates, check Mail Codes Information and Fingate.

Operationally, no changes. Physical Inventory Team and Reuse/Surplus Sales team will continue to have workspace on campus.  We will also have designated drop-in space on campus for campus support team to rotate time on campus.  Will continue to expand use of online meetings and alternating some of our training between both campuses.  Will continue to provide guidance, support, and services.

Property Management Office (PMO)

ORA, Research Administration Policy & Compliance (RAPC)

Faculty, staff, service centers, schools, departments/administrative units, labs, institutes, ORA Post-Award group.

RAPC will continue to provide support/compliance oversight remotely, communications will be via Zoom, Jabber, Slack and e-mail.
