9th Annual Stanford Celebrates You to honor employee service

The annual event will celebrate more than 200 employees who have devoted decades of service to the university.

This month, at the 9th annual Stanford Celebrates You: Recognizing Staff Careers celebration, Stanford will honor 208 long-serving staff members who reached their 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, or 55 years of continuous or bridged service during the 2021 calendar year. After going virtual last year, the event will once again be held in person, with honorees and university leaders in attendance.

This year’s honorees exemplify the perseverance and dedication that have driven the university’s mission forward. David Stricker, 30-year honoree, worked on experiments that went up on the space shuttle. Tim Troxell, 25-year honoree, worked on construction of Y2E2 as a Zone Engineer. Ellyn Segal, 30-year honoree, built the Biosafety & Biosecurity program at Stanford Environmental Health & Safety. These are only a few of the honorees’ achievements that will contribute to Stanford’s legacy well into the future.

“The accomplishments of this year’s honorees are remarkable, and their commitment to the university is equally extraordinary” said Elizabeth Zacharias, Vice President for Human Resources. “I’m very grateful to be able to celebrate their many contributions with them.”
