Axess is getting a refresh this August

Bringing you an easier, more intuitive Axess experience.

Ready for some refreshing news?

This August, the Axess portal is getting an upgrade as part of the Axess Refresh project. Planned updates—scheduled to be released on Aug. 9—will enhance the visual and technical experience of the portal for all users, which includes everyone who teaches, learns, or works at Stanford.

What is the Axess Refresh?

In 2020, University IT conducted an assessment to identify opportunities to update Axess and enhance its user experience. Based on gathered data and user research, the Axess Refresh project launched in 2021 with the following goals:

  • Make Axess more intuitive
  • Modernize the overall look and feel
  • Improve functionality, including mobile responsiveness
  • Simplify the site’s navigation

Now just weeks away from completion, the Axess Refresh project is on track to meet these goals. The update will make Axess more user-friendly now and more adaptable for the future.

Save the date

The updated Axess environment is currently in the final stages of development with user testing underway. Go-live is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Applying the updates will require three days of downtime over the preceding weekend (Friday through Monday, Aug. 6-8). More information about the coming changes will be shared throughout July and August.
