Welcome to the Grow and Perform at Stanford performance program.

The purpose of this job aid is to assist you through the mid-year check-in process step-by-step. All steps for you to complete will be purple, and all notes will be highlighted in teal.

Launching GPS

  1. Navigate to Axess by entering https://axess.sahr.stanford.edu/ into your browser search bar and Login using your Sunet ID.
  2. Select “Employee Center” in the navigation at the top of the webpage.
  3. Scroll down to the Performance Management menu in the right-hand column of the webpage and select the Grow and Perform at Stanford (GPS) System link.

In this job aid you will:

  • Create a check-in document 
  • Add notes to your check-in document

Manager specific:

  • How to view an employee’s check in document

Helpful Tips: 

  • Check-in documents can be initiated by either employee or manager 
  • Check-in documents do not require approval; once your notes are added and saved, they will remain in the check-in document 
  • Check-in documents will be included in the performance review

Creating a Check-In Document

  1. Select “Performance” under the “Me” tab
  2. Select the “Add” button to right of Check Ins
  3. Select “Save”
  4. Select a goal from your list of performance goals
  5. Select the “Add” button to right of Notes
  6. Select “Save”

Note: Use the back arrow to continue to add notes to the performance goals

Manager Specific: How to view an Employee’s Check-in Document

  1. Select “Career and Performance” and under the “My Team” tab
  2. Select the Employees Name
  3. Select the Check In document hyperlink

Note: Managers can also initiate a check-in with the employee by selecting the add button to the right of Check In
