Welcome to the Grow and Perform at Stanford performance program.
The purpose of this annual summary job aid for managers is to assist you through the annual summary process step-by-step. All steps for you to complete will be in purple, and all notes will be highlighted in teal. 5-pt. refers to the grading system employed by the Alumni Association, Business Affairs, External Relations, Land, Buildings & Real Estate, Offices of the President & Provost and University Human Resources.
This job aid will cover how to:
- Locate the performance document for your direct reports in GPS
- Complete the employee evaluation
- Indicate the date you met with the employee(s)
Helpful tips:
- Allow pop-ups in your browser while using GPS to enable viewing notifications
- Save comments prior to the employee completing their self-evaluation
Launching GPS
- Navigate to Axess and login using your SuNET ID.
- Select 'Employee Center' in the navigation at the top of the webpage.
- Scroll down to the Performance Management menu in the right-hand column of the webpage and select Grow and Perform at Stanford (GPS) System.

2. Complete the Employee Evaluation

Please see the 'Evaluate Competencies' section prior to submitting your employee's evaluation.
Evaluate Competencies (Optional)
Please note: If the employee has added competencies to their evaluation, you will be required to rate the competencies in order to submit the performance evaluation.
Proceed to submit the employee's evaluation when all ratings and comments have been completed.
3. Indicate the date you met with the employee(s)
The last step in the process will be for the employee to provide final feedback.
