Goal Setting Manager Job Aid

Welcome to the Grow and Perform at Stanford performance program.
This goal-setting job aid aims to assist you through the goal-setting process step-by-step. All steps for you to complete will be purple, and all notes will be highlighted in teal.
Launching GPS
- Navigate to Axess and login using your SuNET ID.
- Select 'Employee Center' in the navigation at the top of the webpage.
- Scroll down to the Performance Management menu in the right-hand column of the webpage and select Grow and Perform at Stanford (GPS) System.
This job aid covers how to:
View a Direct Report's Goal Plan
Step 1: Select the Goals icon under the My Team tab.
Step 2: Select the employee’s name you are viewing.
Edit a Direct Report's Goal Plan
Follow the same steps to access a direct report’s goal plan in View a Direct Report’s Goal Plan section.
Step 1: Select the pencil icon next to the goal you are editing.
Step 2: Complete the edits in the goal fields.
Step 3: Select Save.
Change notes:
- Once the change has been made, the employee receives an FYI notification.
- Please note the supervisor and employee should hold conversations about their goals throughout the goal setting and editing process.
Share a Goal
Step 1: Select the Goals icon under the Me tab.
Step 2: Select the goal you would like to share.
Step 3: Select the Actions button and select the Share option.
Step 4: Select the employee(s) with whom you would like to share the goal.
Step 5: Select the Save and Close button.
Assign a Goal
Step 1: Select the Goals icon under the Me tab.
Step 2: Select the goal you would like to assign.
Step 3: Select the Actions button and select the Assign option.
Step 4: Select the box next to the goal you are assigning to team members.
Step 5: Select Submit.
