Welcome to the Grow and Perform at Stanford performance program. 

This job aid aims to assist you through the goal-setting process step-by-step.

Launching GPS

  1. Navigate to Axess, https://axess.sahr.stanford.edu/, and log in using your SuNET ID.
  2. Select “Employee Center” in the navigation at the top of the webpage.
  3. Scroll down to the Performance Management menu in the right-hand column of the webpage and select the Grow and Perform at Stanford (GPS) System link.

How to Access Your Worklist

  1. From the GPS home page, select the “Tools”  tab in the top navigation of your screen to change the page view.
  2. Select “Worklist” under Quick Actions at the top of the page.

How to View a Direct Report's Goal Plan

  1. From the GPS homepage, select the “My Team” tab in the top navigation of your screen to change the page view.
  2. Select “Career and Performance” under Quick Actions at the top of the page.
  3. A list of your team members should appear. Select the employee's name (it’s a hyperlink) to see their goal plan.
  4. Your page view should change and you should now see a “Show More” tab in the left-hand navigation; select “Show More”.
  5. A new left-hand navigation should now appear; select “Goals.”
  6. You can now view and/or edit a goal(s) for your employee by selecting the pencil icon to the right of  their goal listed. Save any edits by clicking the “Save” button at the top of the page.

Note: Once the change has been made, your employee will receive a notification and will need to review and resubmit their goal plan. Please refer to the submit section in the employee add goal section. You and your employee should hold conversations about their goals throughout the goal-setting and editing process to help eliminate the editing process in the system.

How to Share A Goal

  1. From the GPS homepage, ensure that you are under the  “Me” tab in the top navigation of your screen.
  2. Select  “Goals” under Quick Actions at the top of the page. A new page view will appear; select the checkbox next to the goal(s) that you would like to share so a checkmark appears.
  3. At the top of your list of goals, click on the “Actions” button to open a drop-down menu; select “Share” from the drop-down menu. A new page view will appear.
  4. A list of your employees should show under Share Goals With at the top of your page view; select the employee(s) you would like to share the goal(s) with. 
  5. Select the “Save and Close” button in the right-hand corner of your page view.

Note: To share the goal with an employee who is not your direct report, select the checkbox next to “Add Worker” and use the drop-down menu to the right “Add Worker” to search for their name. Follow steps 5-7 to save and submit.

How to Assign A Goal

  1. From the GPS homepage, ensure that you are under the “Me” tab in the top navigation of your screen.
  2. Select  “Goals” under Quick Actions. A new page view will appear.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the goal that you would like to share so a checkmark appears. 
  4. At the top of your list of goals, click on the “Actions” button to open a drop-down menu; select “Assign” from the drop-down menu.
  5. Under “Assign To” at the top of your page view, select the employee(s) that you would like to assign a goal(s) to. You cannot assign a goal to an employee who is not your direct report. Note: Leaving the “Allow worker to update key attributes” checkbox checked will allow the employee you assigned the goal to have the option to edit the goal. Unchecking the box will remove the ability for the employee to make edits.
  6. Select the “Submit” button in the top right-hand corner of your page view.
