Changes to expect with the launch of Sequoia

Stanford’s new HR and Payroll system, launching July 6, 2026, will simplify everyday tasks and improve how you access HR information and services, including completing time cards and viewing pay statements. Training and resources are available to help you prepare.

Stanford’s new HR and Payroll system, Sequoia, will launch on July 6, 2026. When it goes live, it will make many everyday workplace tasks easier to complete and easier to find.

Sequoia brings together HR functions of several systems used today, including StanfordYou, PeopleSoft HR, Taleo, Grow and Perform at Stanford (GPS), and HR-related tasks currently completed in Axess. Instead of navigating multiple platforms, you’ll have one modern system to manage common HR tasks such as entering time, viewing pay statements, updating personal information, and accessing HR support.

The new system is designed to provide a clearer and more consistent experience across Stanford while modernizing our HR technology that has reached the end of its lifecycle.

What’s changing with Sequoia

These changes are designed to simplify everyday tasks and improve how you access HR information and services.

Examples include:

  • Updating personal information in one place
  • New format for time cards and absence (time off) requests
  • Access to HR support through the expanded HR Service Center
  • New platform in Sequoia for employees to explore internal opportunities
  • Performance management tools for setting goals, tracking progress, and reflecting on your development, aligned with our new performance management program, EDGE
