Congratulations to the Stanford staff who celebrated 25 years or more of service in 2024!
We are excited to honor these employees at the 12th annual Stanford Celebrates You event in May. University leaders, honorees, and their guests will gather to recognize continuous or bridged service of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, or 55 years.
Throughout their impressive tenures at Stanford, these honorees have contributed significantly to the university's mission and community with their deep knowledge, dedication, and collaborative spirit.
About our anniversary celebrants
Hailing from 19 different schools and units, this year's honorees represent roles as diverse as Athletics Groundskeeper (DAPER), Lead Scientist (SLAC), Fire Sprinkler Technician (VPDoR), Custodian (R&DE), Community Outreach Specialist (SoM), Food Service Worker (R&DE), and Laboratory Machinist (H&S).
For instance, Cathy Haas, celebrating 45 years of service, is an Advanced Lecturer in the Language Department of the School of Humanities and Sciences. Cathy enjoys helping students learn American Sign Language and learn about Deaf Culture.
Esti Hall is celebrating 40 years with Stanford. Not only is she a go-to person for her colleagues in University Human Resources, she's also one of the people who helped make it easy to see your STAP balance – and is a proud recipient of the Amy J. Blue Award.
And Richard Souza from Land, Buildings & Real Estate is being honored for 50 years with the university! In his time at Stanford, Richard has witnessed many historic moments — including visits from Queen Elizabeth and former Soviet President Mikail Gorbachev. He was also part of the emergency response crew that saved 60,000 books during the 1998 Cecil H. Green Library flooding.
