Simplifying your path to HR help
Stanford has a lot to offer you, and a number of places where you can find information throughout your day to keep you connected to the mission, do your work, and take advantage of benefits and employee programs.
But sometimes, you have questions.
As shared in the February Cardinal at Work Insider, the redesign of the Stanford HR Service Center and recent changes to the Services & Support portal will make it easier for you to find help when you need it.
The overall look and feel of the portal did not change, but several of the help tickets were updated to be clearer to you.
What’s new in the Services & Support Portal?
A new Ask the HR Service Center category was added for navigating to the new Request HR Service Center Support form. This form consolidated a number of single-topic help tickets.
Updated and new help forms were designed to improve case routing on the back end, so that your requests reach the right team more quickly and efficiently.
“The Stanford HR Service Center aims to be the trusted front door for HR support,” says Jodi McCullagh, the Sr. Director of the HRSC. “We work every day to be reliable and responsive to your needs. One way to deliver on this is to simplify the pathway to HR-related help.”
How do I contact the HR Service Center when I need HR help?
The HR Service Center is available to provide guidance and resolution to your questions about HR programs, including benefits, leaves, I-9s, and Tuition and Training Programs (i.e., TGP, STAP, STRP).
- Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT
- Service Portal: Submit a help ticket to the relevant HR area through the Stanford Services & Support website. If you are unsure of who to go to for help, you can now simply use the Request HR Service Center Support general form to submit your request.
- Phone: 877-905-2985 (toll-free)
Additionally, Contact Us information in the footer of Cardinal at Work has been updated and will help you navigate to relevant points of contact at any time.
We plan to share additional information regarding the HR Service Center and how it supports Stanford’s preparation for Sequoia (the new HR and Payroll system planned to go live in July 2026) in future newsletters.
