What to Bring

NOTICE as of 3/17/2020

The Welcome Center is suspended to comply with county shelter-in-place regulations. Review the agenda to ensure your onboarding addresses these key topics, and view newly created videos that contain important guidance.

Previous information:

To fully participate during orientation, please bring the following items with you to the Welcome Center.

Your SUNet ID and Password

Bring with you the SUNet ID that you created along with the corresponding password. These will enable you to access Stanford's systems during orientation.

Two-Step Authentication Method or Device

To fully participate during orientation, bring the method or device—such as your mobile smartphone, tablet, or landline phone that you selected to set-up your Two-Step Authentication. The are several methods to authenticate your identity when accessing Stanford's systems. If you authenticate with a smartphone or tablet, Duo App - Push Notification is the recommended method because it is the easiest  and quickest way to authenticate.

For employment verification, bring your completed I-9 Form Page 1. View examples of completed I-9 forms to assist you in completing the form.

Unexpired Government-Issued Identification

Your unexpired, original government-issued identification is required to complete your I-9 documentation and receive your Stanford ID Card. See page 3 for acceptable identification to bring; e.g. Passport or Green Card or Driver's License and Social Security Card.

Direct Deposit Information

For setting up your direct deposit, you'll need to know your bank's routing number(s) and your account number(s). We do not need a voided check.

Additional Items

A comfortable pair of shoes to wear or to change into, as well as weather-appropriate clothing. As part of your onboarding experience, the orientation agenda includes a guided tour of our beautiful campus and we want you to be comfortably attired.
