Stanford Lactation Spaces
Stanford University supports breast/chestfeeding and pumping at work. Employees should contact their supervisor/ manager, or Human Resources (HR) Manager to work out a solution to meet their breast/chestfeeding needs.
Examples of arrangements include:
- Scheduling conference rooms
- Using an unoccupied office (with permission)
- Or hanging temporary blinds/curtains to create a private space.
Any space that is private, lockable and is not located in a bathroom can be considered for lactation space use. Department, building, facility, or space coordinators may have information about possible use of space and whom to contact for permission. Stanford University, Stanford Hospital, and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital offer wellness rooms, listed below, that may also be available to be used for lactation purposes. Descriptions of each wellness room are included, what, if any, pumping equipment is available, and whether provisions for the appropriate storage of breast milk are provided.

The list below was last audited in May 2024. If you experience any issues with a room, please contact us by submitting a support ticket.
