Application Process and Deadlines
Once a year, eligible faculty can apply online for a salary supplement. If approved, they can apply for reimbursement for qualified childcare expenses once they have been incurred. Reimbursement claims are processed up to five times per year.
Faculty whose household has federal taxable gross income below $216,000 are encouraged to apply to the Child Care Subsidy Grant Program (CCSG) during the CCSG 12-month application cycle to take advantage of potential pre-tax funding through a Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account. Applying to CCSG is not required before applying to FCCAP. CCSG offers eligible applicants the opportunity to receive financial assistance through their Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts as pre-tax dollars.
FCCAP payments are subject to taxation at the supplemental tax rate.
Applications submitted between October 9 and November 13, 2026, will be considered for the full award. Awards are not automatically renewed, and an application must be submitted annually for each fiscal year (September 1–August 31).
Awards granted after November 13, 2026, will be prorated beginning with the next full month.
