Years at Stanford:
50 years

What I enjoyed most about my time at Stanford is . . .
Working and interacting with smart people on challenging research opportunities, with a lot of freedom and encouragement. The opportunity to travel to and work with people from all continents (except Antarctica).

What is your favorite place at Stanford and why?
The campus bookstore: excellent coffee and snacks, lots of fascinating books to browse, and a great place to get gifts.

Point of Pride: Tell us briefly about an event projects, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
Being invited to and attending the 1990 Nobel prize ceremony in Stockholm as part of the team that in the late 1960s and early 1970s made the "breakthrough in our understanding of the inner structure of matter" (i.e., discovered the quark).

Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance or advice would you give to a new hire to Stanford?
Take advantage of the numerous opportunities offered at Stanford —Continuing Studies, cultural & athletic events, the beauty of this campus and the wealth of knowledge in this community. And, get involved! There are many opportunities to contribute, collaborate, grow and make a difference!
