May is Mental Health Awareness month and if there's one thing we learned this past year, it's the importance of taking care of ourselves—mentally and physically—all the time.
One of the best ways to support our emotional well-being is by lifting each other up. We invite you to share your personal and professional self-care tips through our digital idea board to inspire and encourage your colleagues; revisit the board throughout May to see what others are doing that might work for you, too. By encouraging each other to take care of ourselves, we can help each other through both minor and major life challenges.
Workplace-specific issues and workplace-supported help
Many of us may be feeling burnout, stress or anxiety, which can manifest physically through fatigue, lacking motivation or being easily distracted from the task at hand. When you feel this way, remember that Stanford offers you resources to support your mental well-being:
- The Stanford Faculty Staff Help Center provides up to 10 free confidential, professional counseling sessions for you and your family. All appointments are currently virtual.
- Meru is a 12-week online mental wellness program available for free to employees and adult dependents who are enrolled in a university medical plan.
- BeWell offers personalized wellness support through your annual, free Advising session and STAP-eligible Multi-session Coaching.
