Additional Requirements for Employees in Health Care Facilities

In addition to the university's vaccination policy, Stanford employees who enter health care system facilities for work must also comply with the Stanford Medicine vaccination requirements. Per the Stanford Medicine vaccination requirements, all clinical, patient-facing employees (faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, student employees) at the School of Medicine, including those who work in or frequent clinical and hospital areas, must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination (completion of primary vaccine series and booster dose, if eligible) in alignment with the Santa Clara County order and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) order.

Stanford employees who do not frequent a hospital or clinical building are not required to comply with this booster requirement.

To comply with this requirement, faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars should ensure they are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination (completion of primary vaccine series and booster dose, if eligible) by no later than Feb. 6, 2022.

Those who wish to submit a medical or religious accommodation for the booster shot should follow the accommodation process.

Please note: If you previously submitted and received approval for a medical or religious accommodation for the initial COVID-19 vaccination series, you do not need submit another request for medical or religious accommodation for the booster dose.

New Hires

If you are a new hire and would like to submit an accommodation for either the booster shot or both the initial vaccination series and booster shot, please submit one medical or religious accommodation. Please note that new hires need to upload proof of vaccination to Health Check or have a medical or religious accommodation approved by the university in advance of their start date.
