Typical Responsibilities for Local Human Resources Managers

  • Represents needs of the unit to University HR
  • Develops programs to support local recruiting needs
  • Facilitates and provides consultation on the recruiting process within the local unit and between the local unit and University HR
  • Conducts and coordinates position searches, including selection and use of employment search firms
  • Implements and administers recruitment and hiring policies

Typical Responsibilities for Hiring Supervisors

  • Makes selection and hiring decisions within the stipulated policies and parameters, including reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, and documenting processes and decisions
  • Implements recruiting and staffing policies, programs, and processes locally
