IDEAL Staff Advisory Committee & Community Groups

Main content start

Many groups are collaborating on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives. In addition, our Staff groups, Communities of Practice, and a variety of Slack channels can provide staff with opportunities for professional, educational, and social support. Schools and units may also have groups whose role is to support diversity initiatives and/or provide personal support to community members. See also the "Join a Group" webpage.

IDEAL Staff Advisory Committee

This committee began meeting in October 2020 and is charged with developing recommendations that will improve university-wide processes, systems, procedures and/or programs and services that support BIPOC staff and all staff. The committee guides the strategic direction of the IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity  and Access in a Learning Environment) initiative for staff, and proposes programs and initiatives to further diversity and inclusion at Stanford. Committee members represent schools and units across campus and partner with many groups to prioritize efforts and advance issues and recommendations for positive community change.

DCP groups meet on a quarterly basis and bring together DEIB staff practitioners from across the university. DCP groups give DEIB practitioners a meaningful opportunity to build community, network across silos, share resources, provide support, and adjust our collective practices, knowledge, and goals to address the evolving DEIB landscape.
