Announcing a new professional development course to explore career possibilities

Are you ready to take control of your professional career journey?

At Stanford, we understand the importance of nurturing professional growth by providing employees with opportunities to develop and excel in their careers. Our latest professional development course, Designing Your Work Life from the Stanford Life Design Lab, empowers you to strategically plan and navigate your career trajectory in a community of your peers. After a successful pilot in Summer 2023, Designing Your Work Life will be offered twice per year, typically in Winter and Summer.

This highly-interactive learning experience offers a comprehensive framework and practical tools to help you make informed decisions and take actionable steps toward building a rewarding and purposeful career. You’ll take charge of your career by identifying projects that are important to you, exploring career interests through networking, and enhancing your ability to share accomplishments. This course will support you in developing a plan to engage in your current role while exploring career possibilities at Stanford.

You'll spend time learning new content and completing individual reflections in class, but most class time will be spent problem-solving, connecting, and practicing skills with other class participants in breakout rooms. Also, plan to spend about one hour completing action-oriented work before the course begins and in between sessions.

Designing Your Work Life consists of four two-hour live, highly interactive virtual sessions, costing $400 (STAP-eligible). Attendance is mandatory at all four sessions: Feb. 27, March 5, March 12, and March 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Learn more about the course on its Cardinal at Work description page.
